This museum is related to Toshima-ku, Tokyo, where Ikebukuro is located. Visitors can learn about the land of Ikebukuro from various perspectives, from geological strata to culture and urban history.

Ikebukuro had a studio village where artists gathered called “Ikebukuro Montparnasse. It was a place for artists, poets, filmmakers, and students, and this soil has been passed down to this day. At the Toshima City Museum, visitors can learn about the history of Ikebukuro in the past and the origin of the current Ikebukuro culture.
